At the December 6, 2011 BOD meeting, one of the BOD members, apparently summarizing the BOD's position on an ODOT action, said:
"I am opposed to ODOT or any Government organization positioning themselves
that they don't account to anybody."
It is truly a sad reflection on their integrity that, at the very next meeting, January 3, 2012, that Clackamas County Advisory Board schemed that the community should not be informed that Cam Gilmore, a key person in Clackamas County staff, will be attending the February meeting.
The rationalization mentioned was:
"..do (it) internally..."
"...this is information for us..."
They had had a long discussion about ODOT's proposed rule making change and, apparently, meeting with other folk from Hamlets, set a letter to ODOT. ODOT said "sure, we'll talk with you even if you are 'late'".
=> but tell the community about this? Nope.
The ODOT discussion contradicts and doesn't contrast with the BOD actual actions; reflecting very poorly on them.
I note that I have requested 5 interesting documents that the Darned folk have withheld from the community for no reason that I can see. Some of the documents have time frames, long since gone by, that were not shared with the community.
Sigh,
why can't these folk try to "represent" and "involve" the community instead of doing the classic, "in control" boss?
They weren't totally evil,
nor were they particularly virtuous,
but their incompetence, deceit, snake oil, and intimidation
made them the Villages of the Darned
