Clackamas County"Complete Communities":
"Time to Fix 'Complete Communities'"
It's only $2000,
Forget The millions $ for those Goberment Employees!
....salaries, medical, vacation, officies, management, etc.....
The Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners are having a policy session over the dead carcass of the "Villages at Mt. Hood.
 Bottom line:
- The County should hire more employees, Â spend more tax money.
- The CPOs are important
- we want stuff done for us
- we have (unspecified/this year) needs and you should pay for them.
- gender discrimination, bullying, etc is all good.
Huge deal: won't cost much cash/$, just hire a bunch of goberment drones
The form is clear: "financial implications: $2000"
But, of course, that is "cash out of hand" and they can't be bothered to include the very minor(?) amount spent on:
Yes, salary, benefits, vacations, office space, management, etc, are all free! free! free!
....or at least they can build a bigger empire and get paid More $! More $Â More $$$$
"PGA provides resources and staff liaison support and guidance to Hamlet and Village boards and communities.
In addition, PGA manages Hamlet and Villages board recruitment and election process.
Doesn't count the mediators, the outside contractors, the legal beagles, the time wasted by the BCC, etc, etc, etc
Yes, $2000 is all the tax money the County will spend since YOUR taxes don't count if they are paid to an unfireable goberment employee.
...But the whiners can't get the signatures...
I suggested that if this should be serious,
and not just a dead carcass to come alive in the "day of the living dead",
it is trivial,
get the signatures to make sure at least some folk want it.
they can't get the signatures but the carcass should be given money,
and the County should animate it, it is too much work for folk to actually donate resources.
Have you seen those Zombie movies? "Night of the living dead"? => stay tuned!
Of course, this leads to the County TAXing to get the money back, but that is so "tomorrow".
...and then there is the survey
They also paid money to an outside contractor to, from their Stump Town urban perspective, Â "survey" the "folk up there".
The "report" is here as they try to tell how to "fix it".
Unlike the City of Damascus, it never seems to enter the conversation that maybe the expectations are unrealistic.
The Online Survey
They had an online survey and, since someone noted it was trivial to forge multiple entries, they carefully check IP address for identical results.
Of course, this just means if a person moved from bar to bar, they counted.
The Results Don't Pass The Laugh Test
The results look ridiculous.
Yes, of the "455 partial and full results", there are at least a 100 that are real (anonymous, hidden) people.
But looking at the other responses, they smell like someone was "trying to be different each time".
...at least they note "data is not statistically representative of all residents"
Oh yeah, you Rhody Folk or people who declare yourselves Rhody,
=> you are winners!
Only Welches, who surpasses your 200 people, by 1000s responded more!
.....of course, Mr. Wilson and his friends probably put down Rhody for and count amount the 150 folk who responed.
Recommendations from the Contractor
"do good things"
And guess what: the CPO is important!
The number one issue that folk cared about was:
Thanks Kip and "boo County" for making the Hoodland Corridor CPO scared.
Is this real?
According to the results, there is at least someone who thinks
“You've got immediate community needs, but first you need to accomplish rebuild confidence. The list of issues to work on could be fantastic but the community doesn't trust the board or the commissioners at this point.”
to which I respond
Oh? Really, and what might that be?
Too many snowboarders?
Your kids not catered to?
And what have YOU done to address them?
Hey folk, we're 5000 people spread over 15 miles with around an expressway with bunches of "summer home" folk/visitors.
What do we "need" that YOU are willing to pay for?
Mr. Amphitheater/"lost donations" Wilson has Memorandum of Understanding
Here is the "Memorandum of Understanding" that the bureaucrats, who can't help the CPO get going, have negotiated with the bullying, gender-discrimination Mr. Wilson.
=> he has to run an election
(hmmm, will he allow women to actually run, and, if so, with what "bene's" for him?)
...and, of course, a County employee was the "mediator" !Â
They weren't totally evil,
nor were they particularly virtuous,
but their incompetence, deceit, snake oil, and intimidation
made them the Villages of the Darned
